What oil?

Well.. I have just returned from a day trip to the Macon region in France and a warning appeared with the "oil can" symbol. I pressed the button to check the oil, I have an 06 2.5si, and it indicated I need to add 1 litre. My question is, a litre of what? I saw in the BMW Switzerland magazine an advertisment for Castrol SLX Professionaé Powerflow BMW LL04 0w-30. Is this what I need to use.. merci bien,

yes, that oil should work, as will any oil with the BMW LL-04 rating.

BMW recommends Castrol Syntec 5w30.

I wouldn't go mixing oil unless you change it completely.
Top off with a litre of 5W30, and if you want to try the 0w30, do it on your next oil change.
