surely the headers and the word COBRA on the rocker covers gives it away :P

5.0 V8 from a Mustang.. approx 350bhp with lots of torque! Engines coming out in a couple of weeks, then its getting fitted with mappable EFI. Once thats been done, hopefully 200bhp N02 shot on top
No still never got it

Looks like a tight fit, amazed it does fit though. How is the handling with that lump installed? What gearbox in it?

in order

S2000 (2003)
TVR Tamora(2004)
911(2005)
Cayman S(2006)
Boxster S(2007)
Z4M Coupe(2008)

I’ve had a few Porsches, but I wasn’t a Porsche fan before I bought my first one, a 911. My wife hated the TVR and wanted to change it, so I went to my local Porsche dealer to have a casual look at the Boxster, but I’d driven one before and wasn’t that impressed. Also looked at the 911 and wasn’t that impressed with that either, it felt dull slow and very normal on the test drive compared to my TVR, my wife persuaded me to get the 911, I thought I’d give it a fair crack of the whip to see if I was missing something on the test drive. Turns out, I was.
Choose a C2 manual and went to collect a few days later, absolutely screwed it to death on the journey home in the driving rain, I’d only had a for 10 minutes, but the feel through the steering and general connection allows you to drive it with confidence, loved Porsche’s ever since.
The Boxster was just an in between-er until I decided what I was going to get after doing up the house.

Comparing the CaymanS and Z4M coupe, I’d say the Cayman rides much better and is easier to drive, you can use it just like a normal car, the chassis is brilliant, but it lacks a bit of character compared to the Z4M, maybe because it so polished.
The engine in the Z4 M feels stronger, I found the Cayman S nearly as fast but you’ve got to screw it a lot more than the S54 engine. The Cayman drives itself too, you really have to drive the Z4 every inch of the road and the clutch and gear box aren’t as smooth or as easy to operate(yes, I’ve done the CDV), which makes smooth progress harder work in traffic. Think the ECS software would benefit the car greatly. I bought the car as a toy though and overall I prefer the Z4M coupe, it’s just more fun. I love the way you can head into a sweeping bend with the front tyres load up, then turn in a bit more and feel the back end start to come round under power on the exit. I had the chance to buy a Cayman S before I bought the Z4 for very similar money and choose the Beemer.
A good question to ask yourself is, how many great drives have you had in the car?

I’ve had loads in the Z4, I love driving it, it makes me grin every time I take it out, the Cayman was a better all rounder and probably just as fast in the real world, but it didn’t put a smile on my face half as much.

That way a really interesting take on the Z4M. HAving been lucky enough to have a 997 C2 for a week that car is sublime, but not quite as quick in a straight line as the Z4M Coupe I felt. The Cayman S I found a bit bland to be honest but lovely gearbox and handling. The Box I had was a 2.7 and a bit slow to be honest, the 3.4 I had as a loan cat frequently was much better :)

Totally off-topic but my previous cars to the Z4M Coupe:

This beats the F40 for me. It's a very good friend's father's car. He also has an original Cobra, XK120, Amazing Aston DB5 restored by Aston themselves (It's behind the Gullwing) and a 288GTO. His days cars are Merc CL63AMG and Bentley Mulliner T Park Ward. And would you believe he made his fortune from towels? It's like that Tom Cruise movie Cocktail when he reckons there's a multi millionaire Chinese guy who makes drinks umbrellas!

Enjoy, they don't make them like they used to.

i guess if we're in this forum in the first place we clearly all love our cars, so its great to see some beautiful things you don't see everyday. (bit better than the pics of my 406 i started this thread off to show.. )

loving the gull wing, whats the significance of the tangerine beetle? interesting there's a pretty normal looking Sovereign in there too :)

i love the 996 on the previous page too.. i can't help loving them, i guess id have one in *my* barn if i could..

Wish i still had it.... My lovely Spider..

No significance to the Beetle. The cars are stored in a professional storage centre that also does weddings ! The old Jaguars, Daimlers, VW bus (background) etc are all wedding cars. They also have some very cool 30s Packards and Rolls Royces as well. If only i had a pic of the entire unit, some of the cars are just incredible. There's a 275GTB/4 longnose Ferrari that's ex-Dean Martin that is just awesome for example, and a mint green 356 Speedster with period maps in the door cards etc. There is an original Herbie beetle used in the films as well that's got something cool about it!

Anyway, maybe i'll pop down and get some photos, i used to keep my 993 turbo there before I had a garage so know them well.

That's the place :)

I've test driven a few cars there but never bought one...just can't get to grips with Porsches as yet...will keep trying!

Does look very cool...slightly OT but sort of reminds me of the underground off Park Lane in London. A slightly surreal place, simply because there are some interesting gems in there under car covers trying to remain inconspicuous...in what is still a public access car park. Some have the owner-gone-missing feel to them due to layers of dust...

Currently the MC is the only car in the stable.

It'll be joined by one of these...
