What is your Second Car?

I know I've done this before, but we have a few more owners now and i find it interesting. A good friend of mine has a 1995 Rover 114 Kensington SE (Metro) which he uses as his daily driver - to a brand new AM Vantage V8.

I've got, a Pug 406 HDI 90 for £1500. 140k, big and roomy and surprisingly comfy for any distance. Have worked out it's pretty much exactly half the cost per mile as the //M. Cheap tax, can leave it anywhere in London, very practical, use it to take garden rubbish to the tip (without covering the seats), totally reliable so far (15k) and does 800 miles on a £75 tank.

Have heard about Audis, C2s, Micra Rentals.. what else we got to keep us mobile Monday to Friday? :D

Nissan Micra 1.2 (think it's 80bhp) in silver, wheeltrims, bluetooth, air-con - perfect :)

Come on.. we need pics.. im gonna take pics of my Pugly too :D:D

MrMike.. is your Micra on a track? :D ..

I was once in a 1990s Micra & my mate *(matt) wrote it off.. kinda felt like it was right and going to a better place, lol. Obviously a totally different car thank god, this was like a tent with a steering wheel, I've heard yours is a nice drive, and not a bad power-weight...

I learnt to drive in one of the old ones, it was a G reg.

I love driving it TBH, after the effortless Merc power and auto box it's a right laugh keeping it on the go. Surprises a few people too. The thing with it is, it's really made me think about splashing out on a sports car again, might settle for something mid-range like a Golf GTI or Civic Type R or something next time.

That reminds me, I have to change my signature. My 330 has now gone along with my girlfriend, God I miss my car. My other car is now my Focus Estate. Horrible green colour with many scratches and dents and 152k on the clock but it gets me around. I may have to upgrade when I get my finances together.

320d touring and a 1990 325i touring with 163k on it. Mini Cooper too.
Triumph Sprint ST, Piaggio Rally 200, Lambretta 200SX and a T5 too.

Micras were a blast. I worked for Town and Country Car Rental for about 8 years (whilst at college) and remember C151 NRR very well. 1.0 micra. Lightest car of it's time. Remember racing it with Porsche 944's. Neck and neck upto 40mph. Even with driver change overs. 944 couldn't lose it on twisty roads either. You had to ditch the air filter though.

Oh what fun days they were. Micras to Lambos with some Alpha, BMW, Lotus, Porsche, Ferrari, Aston, Lotus n the way.

It's swift, comfy, and surprisingly cheap to run however I'm just starting to get a little bored with it now. If I can sell it for the right money I think I'm due a change.

Wondermike I had a (D reg I think) micra as my first car, it cost next to nothing to run and helped me perfect the art of the handbrake turn

my "care free" car is a bright yellow rover 75 on a w reg, 8) nice big bouncy auto to do lifes chores, god i love my zed

Her indoors has an X5 which is a fantastic 3 piece suite on wheels. Effortless luxury!. My daily and much abused is a Citroen C2.

My trusty 2001 X5 with 80k plus miles, never misses a beat, looks as new as the day I got her and unlikely to let her go until my youngest finsishes uni (and she stil has 2 years at school to go... ) Avoiding the depreciation and getting the best out of my £45k invstment

Well here's mine.

Same engine as the Impreza Turbo makes for a bit of a stealth rocket. The 0-60 is below 6 seconds!!! Actually it's for sale for £7500 as I fancy a Cayenne now that they're so cheap. It's a Forester XT with a pathetic 16500 miles from new and some toys such as Bluetooth, Harmon Kardon Ipod connector and Road Angel. PM me if you're interested.

Just for good measure here's what I sold to buy the M - and I don't regret it

My wife has an E91325i Touring on a '57 plate for the kids and dog and I'm planning to get a cheap runabout so that I can keep my ///M for weekends.
