What is it with all the Z4's I go to look at...

Guess that will have to be your first question then when you go and see one: Has it been repaired ...

Mine looks like it had a small repair at the very bottom of the front bumper a parking scrape more than like cannot see it just feel the dry paint so not worried but nothing on the major panels or i would have walked.

Hope you have better luck soon

I've never met someone yet who will admit that.....I don't mind a bit of paint work on second hand car, it's just gotta be good paint work :headbang:

Bad repairs do suck...

However what does it matter if done properly? Panels get damaged for all sorts of reasons; vandals kicking them, parking scrapes from inconsiderate people when parked in the street, vans knocking you, clipping bollards, being keyed, stone chips and god knows what else. If its been in an accident that has affected the car, fair enough, but a cosmetic repair on a scraped panel is nothing to worry about IMO.

Half the Z4s on the road will have had some form of repair before then even reached the dealer as new cars...shipping, handling etc always results in damaged cars. They just get fixed at BMW reception centres.

I've got no problems with a well repaired car, how ever this is what I've seen so far.

Car 1, Un-even panel gaps around the drivers wing (which wasn't even bolted down properly by the A pillar!!), new bumper, new headlight and skirt not fixed back into place 100%

Car 2, Flaking paint along the bottom of the skirt and around the the side repeater on the drivers side.

Car 3, Rear quarter re-sprayed and repaired door skin and wing (tell tale ripples in panels) on passenger side.

It's not like I'm even looking at the cheapest ones out there......

Rant over, I'm sure the right one is out there for me somewhere :D

Sad but true.

It just a question of keep looking, think you have just been unlucky, im sure as the better weather arrives (that aint today thats for sure :D ) more cars will come on the market, my local stealer had one for sale last month, yesterday when I went to get some oil they had four, you will get there

I just think people get anal about small things and get them repainted. The day I drove the car off the lot I got a chip coming off the road. So I had the door repainted. First place did a poor job and the paint faded so I had to get it redone. I'd be more concerned about structal damage.

I sold my previous roadster and showed the guy the pictures of before and after a bump I had. I caught the back of a 4x4 at 5mph but did 4.5k's worth of damage.

But I had it repaired at a BMW workshop and it came back spick and span. I just wanted to be honest with the guy and he was happy with my honesty.

But not many people are that honest sadly.
