What is error code 5E24 mean

Have had my Z4 for 10 months now and ever so often the DSC light & handbrake light come on. Now the light is coming on more regularly and my MOT is due in a few weeks time.

Went to a friends garage and there code reading said.

5E20 Pressure sensor 1

5E21 Pressure sensor 2

5E24 Pressure sensors.

From reading the other topics on this subject does the above mean replace both sensors and what does 5E24 mean.

The 5E24 code is a consequence of the 5E2021 code, where the car ECU checksum computes that the pressure reading it is getting from the ABS Pump is not plausible. Fix the 5E20 part, and the 5E24 disappears.

Where is the best place to purchase the sensors, still find it strange that it only seems to happen on a long trip when the car heats up.

Loads and loads of threads on this subject.

I had exactly the same issue, when the car was hot on came the lights, leave it [overnight] and after a run and a stop out they went. I got fed up with the lights coming on at least once a week so took it to a BMW Dealer who confirmed that both DSC Sensors need replacing.

Retail for a sensor is £90.99, but if you have built up a relationship with dealer you should be able to get a discount [I did :thumbsup: ] -

Labour? Initial diagnostic should be 1/2 hour, fitting is 1 hour, bleeding is about 3/4 hour.

+ 1000ml of Brake Fluid

Do a deal with them - you'll get 2 year warranty on the work - IMHO well worth it [as I've posted elsewhere :lol: ]
