What is covered by the "lamp out" warning

Just something that is still niggling me from last year, as on the MOT the dealer replaced a number plate light for a huge sume to get it through the MOT.

I never had a lights out warning on the dash, so what lights are covered with the warning system then?

Headlights (low and high beam)
Sidelights
Indicators
Brakes
Not sure about numberplate bulbs

The warning light on the dash doesn't cover interior lights!

I didn't get a warning light when one of the sidelight's bulb went.

Def doesnt include numerplate bulbs on mine... I had my licence plate lights unplugged for a few drives while i sourced a crimpin tool when fitting my LED lights, no light on the dash.

Ok, we seem to agree on that one then. Not sure why they are not included in the system then as if it is an MOT failure, I think it should be part of the warning system (if you have a warning system at all, it might as well be a "full" one).

I'm guessing they don't pull enough current to make the system reliable in detection, but what do I know as I'm a Mechanical Engineer.

But they are the same bulbs as the sidelights, are they not, so surely the current isn't the issue ? I was getting a bulb out light when my sidelight bulb was loose in it's holder, so it should come on for them. Perhaps it's a piece of UK legislation that isn't replicated elsewhere in the world, so they left the functionality out ?

I'd say a number plate is 5w so should match the draw of a sidelight that's a 5w too.

Agree with pvr that odd its not included in the system.
