what is claying?.

never heard of claying untill i came here. what is it, what does it do, and how do i do it on my z4, whats the correct way to polishh and clean my baby.

It's one of the stages of cleaning a car, prior to polish and waxing. In simple terms it's a specialist clay that when used with a lubricant removes surface contaminants off the paintwork.

I'd run a few searches int he detailing forum and you shoudl find some great insights into the end to end process, remember though that everyone has their own ideas.

Its a very simple process but worth it for a nice end result.

As said above it removes contaminants from the paint taking it back to the clearcoat leaving a very smooth feel to the paint like glass which is a great base to then polish seal and wax.
