What Brake Pads

My fronts and rears are up and so its time for some new pads. Ive had a quote from Kwikfit £208 all in, though i can have them fitted at a local garage for £99 and i'll supply the pads.

Are EBC any good (Green-stuff, Red-stuff? £110 for all round) the Ferrodo ds2500 are a little pricey at £200 all round. Or is there another brand that you guys use.

I'm not looking for a racing track pad, just something good for the road.

Advice welcome :)

I use Ferodo ds2500, fantstic pads, very good initial cold bite and excellent once warm, they do squeak a little when cold but it doesnt bother me tbh

If you don't need a heavier duty pad, then simply buy Textar (OEM IIRC) or Pagid road pads from EuroCarParts (& don't forget to use their PARTS25 discount code at checkout).

Standard pads are about £40 a set - so £80 in total, minus 25% - so £60.

I use EBC Bluestuff NDX myself, but I like a heavy duty pad, and whilst I get them for a good price I'd still buy them at full price

I recently brought some pagid pads and discs for the rear of mine, brought them from EuroCarParts for £78 with the discounts which seem to be always on. Fitted them my self so it worked out pretty cheep in the end.

If it's just for road use then I would recommend standard pads too and I'd certainly keep away from greenstuff pads. My E36 M3 had those and they had no bite at all hot or cold! The racier stuff is more consistent at higher temperatures, so if you're constantly scrubbing off say 30-50 mph every 500 yards then I'd say they're worth it, but for the road, road pads are just fine.

I ordered some pads for the front of my car this morning from GSF. Their premium pads for my Z4M for the front are £41 and the rears £32. http://www.gsfcarparts.com/

So the discs/pads for gsf car parts re the same as what i would get if buying from BMW?? And which ones would be the same, the standard or the premium??
