I think the roof covers are fairly priced ( although i wouldn't pay it ) but almost £1k for a non perfect roof is a poke in the eye seller is obviously adding on the London tax

I can understand your annoyance as you feel they are profiteering and perhaps alittle unecessarily.

However, if its over priced the only mug is the person who voluntarily buys it. If it sits there two weeks without a sniff and he has to reduce it to £900 all in, with the locks, then that will happen. It will find its own price and market.

I recently sold some roof covers for £90. They are only two bits of plastic, but if thats what people are willing to pay, arent I the mug if Im selling them for £45 ?

Newer Zed members are maybe paying the price for buying older cars , where spares and luxury accessory items are becoming rarer and harder to acquire ?

Not really, but I wouldn't call any seller an a$$hole just because I disagreed with the amount they decide to sell their goods for! Seems a tad extreme, and as mentioned if you don't like the price don't buy them - but I think they are a fair price IMHO.

No it doesn't.

I bought a brand new hard top directly from BMW Germany a couple of years ago (when they were selling off the last of their stock). It came with various bits and pieces, but the covers were not included, and I had to buy them separately.

Yes I remember the warehouse clearance, if I recall correctly they only had limited colours. Either way it looks like they were squeezing every € as the covers came with the hardtop.

Out of interest how much did you pay for the new hardtop and covers?

In Germany they never did come with them, in the UK they did.

Well the silver hardtop (nr Holbury) which I found and posted on here from Gumtree, previously for sale at £700, has now been removed.

Call me cynical, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone bought it and is trying to make a quick buck.

I've only had my z4 for 3 weeks now, and saw the hardtop as essential due to a lack of garage space. I've just struck a deal on one including all fittings and covers. I'll post more about it once I have it on my car, as I still need to fetch it!!
