What am I seeing

OK last night settled into the garden to watch the annual perseids show. North West England Wigan to be more precise. Clear skies good chance to view. So after watching for twenty minutes or so i spot my first meteor. Only thing is was not moving so fast and was not going out of view. It was travelling South to North, not the ISS as app informed me sighting was not due. It looked like a star moved in a straight line and seemed very quick, any ideas what i may have seen , as i saw something very similar 45 minutes or so later. Very high plane perhaps but no visible red or green lights just a brightish white light. And yes i was sober.
 
Satellite maybe??
We see lots of stuff like this on a clear night if you look long enough.
It basically looks like a star but its moving continuously in a straight line and doesnt twinkle or disappear.
