What a crappy day

Well that was a crappy day. Left the office late so had to run for a bus. Result, wrecked my knee. There was a loud pop and seriously bad pain, the same knee as I had ACL re-construction on 6 years ago. The pain is really bad and the knee is not very stabile. I'm no doctor but the prognosis ain't good.
Made my train from Brussles to Paris, only to arrive and find my luggage was stolen from the luggage rack. Stolen maybe harsh, my bag was gone and only one other bag was left. So spent an hour in Gare du Nord trying to report.
So now in hotel, knee elevated, ice packed on it, no clean clothes. What else does the big Man up stairs have in mind for me today?

Awwww mate, not good and feel for you. I have a crap knee too and it's not easy debating what you can and can't do. Hope you get your luggage sorted, maybe use your insurance and buy some new clothes in the interim

Good luck and try not to worry. Remember, in the huge big scheme of things, it could be worse...believe me.

Have a beer. I just hope it's cold!!!

Horrible indeed. Without the knee, I had similar fun on the Eurotunnel last night with a 5 hour wait as something had broken inside the tunnel so got back at 3. Small blessing for you that the train was not delayed on top of everything else.

Do you have cover on your bank card as you get something like £150 emergency cover for clothes when your luggage is lost.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that, hope things improve tomorrow - and see a doctor, you may need prescription pain relief or other medication

marchantsuk, fellow knee suffer here (4 years ago, repaired meniscus, ACL and bone joint "sanding") so feel your pain! Hopefully it won't be too bad when you see the surgeon. BTW - I travel with CoCodomol just in case; mine went again a couple of months back walking down stairs on a Tokyo subway, all fine now though with no surgery needed.

Good luck with the doc visit!

So after seeing a Sports Physician yesterday it looks like a Meniscal Tear with possible ACL rupture. MRI scan on Wed so hopefully some clearer answers then
