Well I went completely left field in the end

After some faffing around in selling the Z4 and visiting 101 different dealers to test drive 101 different make and models of car, I went for something a little different

I bought a 2017 Abarth 595 Competizione. It runs at 180hp but can be tuned to 210 before the requirement of aftermarket intercooler, intake etc taking it to 280 max.

In some ways its better than my Z4 in terms of its uncivilised acceleration, the Koni suspension kit, huge Brembo brakes and the menacing tone of the Monza spec exhaust. However the seating position isn't the best, and it lacks the nice interior of the Z4 by which the plastics in the 595 are a little cheap, but then again it is just a 500...

Carrying on from my Z4 I have mods in the pipeline!

I considered a 695 Bi-Posto with the open gearstick.

Unfortunately it failed my first requirement as I couldn’t fit my luggage in the boot for my weekly commute (and can’t leave work computer unsecured in car).

Yep, love that. A secret desire of mine... PVR’s wife has one, it sounds so lary for such a small car, it’s awesome

Just to be clear my secret desire is the car, not PVRs wife

Snap! 26th of May we got this. Such a fun little car and it was a hoot to drive to SS Classic too, well apart from having to brake hard on the A1 cause the idiot in front decided to come to almost a stand still rubbernecking at a lorry fire.

Fantastic little cars, gotta have a fun roof though :)

Still keep an eye on them but have nearly bought them on several instances. They dont have a telescopic steering adjustment and my arms arent long enough to be comfortable, waiting for a steering hub kit or for abarth to put the adjustability in.

Have fun :driving:
