Welcome back ronk

A well wish ( I think ) from an old pal:-

Hi Ron.
I hope that the op went well and that you are still with us. If you are - GET WELL SOON!
If you are not, please ignore this message

My close mates call me "Captain Spazheart" due to the numerous times I've had to lie down, go to hospital etc. If you can't laugh about it...

That sort of humour amongst friends after a successful outcome or when the dust settles is brilliant. - it's done with the best of intentions and generally well meant.

Without it we would be in a sad miserable place!

Are you back home now?

Yes, I came home after a one night stay on the ward, the Nhs doesn't like long term guests these days !
I had a bit of a wobbly moment during the night after the procedure but after an ecg etc they said it was a reaction to the meds during the op and some dehydration - I was told to drink plenty of water but just forgot !
During the procedure which was I'm told two hours long, I was given some drug or other and whilst I can remember small parts ie the parts that hurt a lot - I can only say that I remember fifteen minutes worth of activity.

I have a little bit of discomfort in the chest but seen to be otherwise ok.

The dvla instruction says no driving fo two days post op (non commercial driver) and nothing too strenuous or lifting for two weeks .

I'm just pleased it's over and seems to have done the trick - the review in twelve weeks time will hopefully reduce the current pill intake each morning.

I certainly feel more confident to book the ferry for our trip to the Netherlands in the Spring and the longer Euro trip in the summer.
