Weird Headlight Problem

Hi guys,

The nearside Xenon headlight on my 07 Coupe is playing up - the other day it didn't come on, the bulb out signal came on the dash, when I turned the lights off and back on it came on - its happened nearly every time I've driven this weekend.

Literally 10mins ago, I turned the lights on the nearside failed to light up, then approx 15-20secs later lit up.

Could this be as simple as a bulb issue? Bulb swap (left to right) would shed light on this fault I would think? Or could it be a ballast problem? Is it a known fault? Has anyone else suffered these symptoms?

Cheers,

Tom

Between £70 and £100 for a new ballast. To swap around you'll need to remove the headlights, check for water ingress when you do as its a prime cause of ballast failure.. BTW get your ballast from the likes of eBay or HIDs-direct.com, much cheaper than the dealers.

Tapatalking...

Most defo ballast or the ignitor - i had both replaced under warranty on my pror zed for this exact same reason. They tried to say it was the bulb - but it wasnt as I confirmed that with the left to right swap.

Hmm, done a ballast swap this morning at work and it hasn't moved the problem - priced up a bulb - £98.40! Don't want to buy it for it not to solve the problem!

Where's the ignitor?

Right so I've put the ballasts back where they were, and swapped the bulbs, hopefully the fault will move so I know its the bulb...

Will wait and see!
