Weeks of anticipation to come...

Just ordered a Z4M Roadster last week! 06 plate with just under 13k miles.

Was really looking forward to picking it up pretty soon, but just been told that the dealer has lost the V5 document for the car and has to order a new one, i've been told it could take up to 8 weeks!!!! Arrrghhh!!!!

Any hoo, came across this forum the other day and have been reading some of the posts intently ever since, and so thought it only polite to say hi to all!

:D

Welcome Z4MMM, to the madness and the greatest driving experience you will ever have!!! Congrats on the purchase!

We will graciously give you 24hrs from the time of delivery to share some pics :camera: :P

Welcome to the Forum!
Introduce yourself in the Newbies section once you get her (and post pics!) :D

Thanks for the warm welcome...
Certainly will upload some pics as soon as she arrives. In the meantime I've managed to persuade the garage to give me a 1 series on loan for their cock up!
Few weeks of free motoring - Nice!

Congrats, but why not go get the Z anyway? They can post the V5 to you.

Mine had someone else's private plate on it, so they did the paperwork, sent off the form, put a new reg on it and I drove it home...

...V5 arrived after only 2 weeks

The V5 for my last two cars arrived in less than a week, but they should be able to give you the car and the DVLA will post the V5 directly to you AFAIK.

With some luck you may be enjoying your car much sooner. :)

I was told by the dealership that they're not able to let me pick the car up without them completing the V5. Some company policy thing...

Really hope you guys are right about the two week wait, I can't tell you how much of a let down it is to get yourself set on a car only to be told you could have to wait 8 weeks before getting your hands on it!

Question for you lot... Realisticly, what sort of MPG does the car return? I've read that I should expect an average of about 23mpg. Does that sound about right???

Depends on your style of driving, during the week motorway runs can return 25+ but at the weekends it seems to drop to mid teens.

Congrats on the purchase, the next few weeks will seem like years!

In my 2.5i I averaged around 28 overall with a top tank average of 32 (all highway).

In my 3.0si I am averaging 23 on my first tank so far - but that's with TONS of "drive it like you stole it" varying of the RPMs and a few highway miles mixed in.

I expect to get 25+ as an overall average after the break-in period... and I've got a pretty heavy foot :driving:

As for the //M, when I test drove IT - I could hear the fuel flowing into the engine, so I imagine you can expect a little less than 25 overall average... again, depending on how you drive.

well fingers crossed, I shouldn't notice too much difference between this beast of a car and my last!

Update tho... Went for a test drive in the my new baby yesterday... Man she's sweet! The garage has given me a brand new 1 series to play around in whilest I wait. And they're gonna want this back as soon as they can, as its only got 6 miles on the clock! - quite impressed with the car actually, its fully loaded and bloody nippy!

So, the garage has also told me that they're heading down to the DVLA Monday as they think that they might have found a way to speed things up. I've been told that I could be expecting a delivery on Tuesday if all goes to plan!

Wont be too long before I can get some Pix up hopefully!

Funnily enough, some of you may have already seen it! I noticed a post on another thread that gave reference to a nicely coloured M that was on sale with a web link to the dealers site! - How random, my next car has already been on here before I get a chance to show her off!
I'd re-post the link, but they've taken of down as she's mine! All MINE! Wooo Ha Ha Haaaaa!!!! :D
