Another couple of great roads travelled for first time in the Zed today!
Heading south from Edinburgh on the A701 through Tweedsmuir stopping for lunch in Mofatt.
Return North was via A708 passing St Mary Loch!, two great roads to drive!

Looks good Rich. The only time I have been in Moffat I was lost and it was the middle of the night! :(

Looks better in daylight and good run out. :D

The weather today's been great but the heat of the previous day's has disappeared.

Tibbie Shiels Inn good place for proper home cooked food at St Mary's loch.....think Black Bull in Moffat OK also.
Borders are great for a day out as you can drive some quiet circular routes.

Back to the same area today but this time took the single track road from St Mary's Loch to Tweedsmuir, fantastic scenery taking in Megget and Talla Reservoirs, not a road for a spirited drive but one I'd advise anyone to visit, I plan to go back soon and next time take a decent camera.
Oh and a glorious 26 Deg!

Spent a little time speaking to a guy from the Lake District out with his new toy, he's going to watch out for our visit next month!

Terrible picture with the phone but the view here was amazing, the road twist and turns from the top before heading off along the edge of the water.

Lovely pictures. Only ever driven those roads in coupes and hire cars. better with the roof down I'm betting.

Did you see the Spitfire aircraft in the front garden of a house in Moffat, I've seen it quite a lot now with my coach trips up to Scotland, lovely place for a stroll around

I know this picture well, as you got to the other end of the resovouir did you see the big old water lodge on the right hand side? It was a B&B up until late last year when it was sold, we used to go up there every year for 5-6 nights, take up all 3 rooms, lovely place, the said owners have moved to not far from us bizarrely.

Lovely roads and scenery in the borders, the road to Moffat and most of that area is great quiet driving roads is'nt it. Thanks for posting the pics.
