we buy any car etc

Yep, they're legit. Worth it if you don't mind taking bottom money for the car.

Heard from someone at work that the price they quote online is not what you actually get as they have a set percentage they have to take off!

Yeah they give you a start price then go over it with a fine toothcomb when you go round, dropping it for every mark etc...

A friend of mine said the same sort of thing happened when trying to sell a second-hand X5. The figure given online was different to the lower figure offered after the rep looked at the car in person, taking money off for this and for that :(

For a laugh I checked my X5 and assuming it was unmarked they offered me £1700. Sure they would have found some way to drop that more. Sold it private for £5500 which is exactly what it was worth.

I used them to sell my Ford Focus as it was a stolen and recovered car and couldnt be bothered with the hassle of a private sale, told them everything about the car and they offered £800! On the inspection day (which was some bloke driving round carcraft car park once and a two minute once over of the controls) they offered £400 :( Just wanted rid as BMW main dealer wouldnt take it and I had my Zed waiting for me to pick up, So took £400. They give you rock bottom money but I wasnt too arsed my car was rock bottom anyway.

As mentioned above they were fined substantially by the FSA or trading standards I cant recall which for giving their evaluators extra incentives to knock down the price when going to visit vehicles.

They never pay the price from the site.

I wouldnt touch them with a barge pole, I'd rather some numpty on ebay bought my cars and thats not just because they value both my cars at £50 (each)..

I once got a quote for my car and they offered £11.500.I decided to take it in for them to inspect it knowing they will try to knock money off because my tyres were all below 3mm and my 108s were all quite badly corroded in the inner part of then rims, it needed a service in a few thousand miles etc..
After the inspection he put my offer up because I entered my mileage in-correctly online, I over estimated by 400 miles. He said aslong as the tyres are leigal and the faces of the alloys are ok he can't knock any thing off. I was pretty surprised and said id think about it so he gave me a weeks guarantee on the price but i decided to keep it in the end.
