Water in passenger footwell

Im just wondering is it possible to remove the carpet on the side of the passenger footwell, I have removed the seat and got the majority of the carpet up... but seems to be well stuck at the centre console. I was hoping i could get it all out so I can dry it etc. Seems to be a lot of water coming in from the bulkhead. I have tried to remove the windscreen wipers and the plastic coverings to see if the drains are blocked but have no joy, the plastic clips under the bonnet are a nightmare, and the windscreen wipers will not seem to come off lol. Any help on this would be great. First things first is to try remove the carpet! :)

Are you absolutely sure it is coming in from the bulkhead?

Has the car had a replacement windscreen fitted badly?
 
I'm not really 100% sure tbh, i've tried pouring water down the grills at the front and it seems to drain away... you could be right it might be a windscreen although how can i tell? It only really seems to be on the passenger side
 
had nothing but problems with this Alpina, im quite upset about it all. Just want to get everything fixed this summer, don't really fancy taking it to BMW as they will charge an absolute fortune no doubt.
 
99% certain it will be coming in through a damaged door membrane. That's the most common cause. Just take the door card off and ensure that's not torn and correctly sealed on.

In respect of the carpet - forget it. Just cure the problem and the carpet will dry quick enough now we're into Spring

OP, I agree 100% with this, hence me asking you why you were so sure it was the windscreen.

Does the passenger window look different to the others - different make stamped on the glass?
 
Hey there, i've taken the drivers seat out and its soaking under there also :( think im going to take the whole carpet out when i get the time dry it out proper. I will stick the seats back in and use the car without carpet.. pour water on the window etc and see what happens. Nah its BMW stamped on the glass... but not sure if its the original or not. I know the VIN plate is different on the windscreen to whats under the bonnet. But i know that BMW put their vin plate on the car, then it gets sent to Alpina who stick there vin on it. so im guessing there will be 2 vins. I will take the carpets out anyway and see what happens
 
Disconnect battery and wait a few minutes before taking out seats/disconnecting connectors under both seats. If you don't you will create faults/error codes. If you have the appropriate software to clear the codes it's not too much of a problem.....but if not.... Off to the dealer to clear the codes you go.....

Yea thanks m8 i did that thanks m8, is a big job removing the centre console to get the carpet out.. going to have a look on youtube and see if theres any vids
