Hi, My Z4 Coupe has got some level of condensation in the front spots. They both still work. Just wondering if this a normal problem? Is it an easy fix or do I need to replace them?

Any help welcomed.......

Common problem I'm afraid, and not coupe specific... you can dry them out via the rear access panel, but it may be back after a short time

Few topic in the how to section

Great thanks for the links and info... I will have a look and see the best way forward.

Mine misted up again when I was washing the car.... VERY carefully. Does anyone know where the hell the water actually gets in? I've replaced the back panels already.... It's getting on my wick now!

The silvering corrodes and comes away from the plastic case. I think this then affects the seal, but I've never taken mine out to look. Have look when they are dryer though - you should be able to clearly see the mess inside. I may try my hand at refurbing mine as in the link above...

I refurbed mine and they dont seem to be leaking anymore.

by the looks of it when I split the fogs, the chrome coating corrodes from the outside & comes away from the ally rear casing, this then lifts the sealer between the casing & the clear plastic front thus letting water in :D

Hope this helps

As I've pointed out before these fogs are a c**p design and not fit for purpose. Never had this problem on my Series 1 round fogs and I suspect all those with Z4 pre-facelift round fogs havn't had this problem. They should have been subject to a BMW recall and replacement since judging by this forum and other Zeds that I have seen far too many have failed.
