Washing the Z4... with a watering can?!

I'm looking to get some detailing kit and give my Z4 a good seeing to in the near future. However, I do not have access to a hosepipe nor any way to fit one up as I live in a small block of flats. Therefore, I may be held up at the first step - washing!

Has anyone washed their Z4 with just a watering can for the rinsing stage? How many trips back and forth to the tap did you have to make? How mental am I likely to go if I try this?!

Why not try ONR.

Great stuff from cleanyourcar.co.uk

i wash mine with a watering can & the two bucket method , but i've never had a problem - about 3 watering cans for pre rinse (6 litres) and 4 cans for rinsing

I did it few years ago when there was hosepipe ban in summer. I used watering can before and after shampoo.

Living in a top floor flat, I use a bucket and a 2 litre spring water bottle. Not ideal so any ideas here am greatly interested in. Watering can sounds ace so might have to take a trip to B&Q.

i often use a watering can just to rinse it off, 3 cans is planty, then leather and dry

You could use no water at all.

I've tried this too. First time I wasnt impressed but put it down to technique. Second time was a doddle, much quicker and easier etc. However, car still gets properly prepped atleast once a quarter. Expensive stuff to use continuously though!
