Changed my handbrake and gear gaiter leather recently, and this weekend after much thought (to do or not to do) iv De-chromed the chrome edge of my kidney grills. In hindsight I wish I did it years ago, I think it looks loads better, such a small touch makes such a massive difference to the overal look of the car.

Got them of ebbs but had a friend with a sowing machine adapt them slightly to fit better.
 
The gear selector does not look quite straight though ….

Yeah took the photo, then realised I'd twisted it, sorted it and went straight out.

I think the black headlights really sets them apart. I have always been tempted with all black, but settled with the black and chrome outers - although may put my grey ones back in for a while now - just to mix it up a bit!!

Agree regards to the black grills - id never noticed it but as you say its a subtle change with a big effect! wonder if it'd suit mine...

can you buy black ones or is it best to just paint? I'd want to try it before i committed :<

On the issue of front grilles, I remember when I had my 3.0 I swapped to all black and it looked ace. Then my OCD kicked in after I read on here that the 3.0 had grey grilles and smaller engine Zed's had black. Had to swap them back to grey :lol:

I would buy black as ive seen soooo many that have sprayed there OEM ones then regreated as it chipped or flaked off, try M style £54 for full black grills :thumbsup:

I Agree with the NOT Painting

I Vinyl Wrapped mine, cost £0 as used 1 off cut. Worst case if someone has to buy vinyl it'll be £5-10 max.
Plus only took hour and half from removing to refitting.
Should last
