Was hill start assist a standard feature?

No, just stop on a hill. If the car rolls back into the car behind, you don't have it

Only lasts 3 - 4 seconds though before it lets go.

It must be standard on all UK Z's as i have it on mine too...

I found it rather intrusive at first.... when i like to roll back without going into reverse.

Don't need it on an auto really - always pulls away

I didn't like it at first but I agree a very nice feature especially at a traffic light on a really steep hill.

Footbrake. But it needs to be in gear to work.

works in reverse too.

2second hold, but yes it's activated by using the clutch and putting it in gear. dont think mine will hold if it's in neutral..
