Warning RE uploading & embedding images

I'm a relative novice to uploading images but it seems with quite a few embedded images & photos ( & even with some signature pics) i can click on the image then view other photos & images from the related Photobucket or Flickr account :o that can't be right can it ?
Happened purely by accident as i clicked a pic of a car to see if the pic could be made bigger but instead it opened the related Photobucket account :?
Not going to highlight who's exactly are open but advise all who do upload pics to check their's :D
Any insight or advice from the Mods ?

If you are that bothered about people viewing other pics you have online I am sure you are able to block access to the full album.
Not entirely sure how to do it as I dont upload naked pics of myself so dont mind what other pics people look at.
I have nothing to hide...... I dont think :?

Unless you look like Ruby then i doubt anyone on here would want to see any pics of you at all let alone naked ones
The point is when someone uploads a image i doubt they want their other photos accessed & most probably aren't aware .

Good call Mr Wilks.
This is just what happened to me,I didnt realise I had uploaded all my photos .until a kind chap on the forum pointed it out.
I was also lucky that there is nothing there that cannot be shared,
All the good stuff is on high resolution disc.

There is a setting in the preferences that locks the photobucket so other people can't see the other photos
Apologies I'm on my way out now so haven't time to be more specific.
Just note when you alter it, it only works going forward
Older photo's you have uploaded will still link back to your bucket
You need to delete the link in the original post and up load the photo (with the new settings) again

I never use photobucket or links to album folders. Just use post image and upload each pic individually.

I don't think some people realise you click on their image and then view other pics that night be personal lol

Tim.

Photobucket like similar sites is designed for photo-sharing so when you upload it auto saves to 'library' - 'your bucket' which is defaulted to public. You just click the little lock next to the title to change it to private. You can save uploads specifically to other folders and set those to 'private' by opening the album, going to 'actions' (bottom right) -'edit setting' - 'privacy setting/edit' and lock it to private.

This is exploited by PB who encourage viewing (and advertising on) http://photobucket.com/recentuploads?page=1 showing a real time montage of images and videos being loaded from all over the world, it's pretty obvious that some people have no idea their indiscretions are not private and being used as public entertainment, stalkers paradise :o

If I use the Photobucket app on my iPad it just copies the link for that one photo, but if I do it on a PC it wraps the IMG path in a URL that takes you to the account if you click on the pic. To prevent it you have to paste the link then delete everything except what's between the IMG markers. Way to tell you've posted a link to your account is the blue line under the photo which is like the underline on a hyperlink.
