Wanted : Sound generator foam

My lovely new Zed is awesome, but a little earbleeding when making progress, quick investigation tonight shows that it has no foam at all in the sound generator.

So if anyone had there old foam knocking about, particularly the engine side piece, that they don't want, give me a shout.

Or if you know of some suitable foam available to buy, could you kindly point me in the right direction before I arrive at work deaf.

I think I might have the big piece knocking about somewhere you can have. Its not that loud with no foam at all, have you got a standard back box?
 
Mine was bleeding ears volume at 6-7k revs, had to put a piece back - felt like I was hurting the car :lol:

You could use any medium density foam I reckon. Texture and consitency is about the same as the stuff used in high end camera cases. Recommend starting small though. As T2FFN says, standard no-foam isnt ridiculously loud and you may end up too quiet; unless thats what you want of course.
 
I couldn't imagine it being too loud, but we all have different tolerances.

I had to take the GP can off my gsxr as it gave me a headache after 30mins and left my head ringing. That was loud, too loud for the road. I reckon at full chat you'd hear it a fair few miles away! :evil:
 
I agree with Bing, up to about 5k its fine, but if you run it through to the red line, it's a bit of a killer. All is completely standard exhaust-wise.

Found the large approx 3" piece. pm your address and I'll post it out tomorrow.

That's the 2nd give-away I've done on here in the last month. Must be going soft :rofl:
 
If anyone else is after the foam I have both bits going spare. Car is dead so won't be needing them!
