Having recently bought a MFSW, I now need the cable (BMW part number 61120394848) to fit it. Anyone have a spare one for sale?

Matt

Are they that expensive? I though they were just
A few ££'s, alrhough BMW have a nasty habit of putting the price up on bits like this once they start to sell

£20 now. Used to be a fiver. It's not a bank busting amount but could help someone (and me!) out if they have one lying about.

Typical BMW I'm afraid.
I'm about to get the XFR rear diffuser ony Jag and it's 2 part at £65 the paid - yep really that's all. Standard unpainted is £165. I net this changes soon ...

i made my own... found 2 wires about 50cm in length and connected them where the retrofit cable would be. cost me 5 cents worth of cable - BMW Australia wanted $40 for the part.

(and they wanted $2200 for an unpainted M bumper and aero skirts, but that's another story)

I'm happy to have a go at this. Didn't you need some special 'crimps' though to insert the wire into the plug?

If the ends are what I think they are you can buy from BMW with about 50cm of wire on for peanuts. I bought some thinking I was just going to get the connectors.

Yes - I too have a bagful of those. Male and female pin and sockets to pit inside connector blocks with 20cm pigtails.

Used about 50 in all my projects and as said cheap as chips

I've made myself a cable at work today with some automotive crimps I *think* could be the right size. I'll find out at the weekend!

Any good Bradders75? Did it work? :)

Mission had to be aborted due to the crimps being completely the wrong type. Have managed to source some different ones and will try again tonight...

All done and felt very satisfying making my own cable. For any competent DIY'er, it definitely isn't worth getting ripped off £20 for a 2 wire cable from BMW.

My new MFSW M-Sport wheel feels AWESOME - a must do mod! :D :driving:

i just made mine myself for a few quids worth of bits from Maplins.
pretty straight forward and works perfecto ;)

I believe there's enough piccies on the howto page for the mfsw that show you what the cable looks like
