Wanted - Front Number Plate Plinth\Holder

Hi,

Does anyone have a spare number plate plinth\holder they're willing to sell? Would require postage, unless you so happen to live in Aberdeenshire :)

Condition isn't important as I'll be getting it cut down and made shorter, then resprayed with the bumper.

I have a brand new unopened ///M plinth on my bench. Intended to cut it up and fit when I did the bumper conversion, but my cut down one fits perfectly.

Cost £44. Would sell inc shipping for £30

Hi cj10jeeper,

Does it come primed from BMW? Might be less work getting a primed one, rather than rubbing down a used one to prime and paint again.

I have a Black one in really good condition I took off a few weeks ago, £15 inc postage if you want it :thumbsup:

Should be as the ///M version comes ready to paint while the standard has a rough surface to be left black.

Can check when I'm home next week.

Good point on the surface! When I had my 3.0 many years ago I asked for it to be painted but it didn't work out so well, partly because of the surface, but also because I'd black to blacked it a few times. So on that basis I'll take it once you're back. Pm me your paypal address, I'll send as a gift.

I hope Graeme doesn't mind me resurrecting this thread but does anybody above (or anybody else) still have their holder/plinths for sale? I had my one resprayed but it appears to be peeling so it's time to go back to standard!
 
Hey Gee.

Did you have your black plastic one sprayed? On my last Z4 the spray shop refused to do it as the paint would most likely peal off over time if it had ever had a product like back to black applied etc.

My mate has a used one in imola if that's of any use (to get sprayed), I can ask him. Or do you want to go back to the plastic finish?

Hi Graeme. The spray shop you used was correct. To be fair my car was in getting the bumper resprayed and I asked them to do the plinth FOC so I can't complain. It lasted about 2 years but the edges have started to crack/come away. The grey doesn't look too bad so I will just go back to that. Hope all is well with you.

@Zikim - If the plinth is in good condition (no bumps/scrapes/gouges) I will take it. PM me the details please.
 
Who did you use out of interest? Always hard to find someone good and reasonably priced in our area!
 
Warren at North East Auto Body. I don't think he's the cheapest but I've been using him for years on bits and pieces. As a result he did me a favour on the plinth.
