A bit dangerous messing about with electrical things whilst in the bath!![]()
Its ok if there is no water and I had my wellies on,not just my wellies I might add benv6 said:I have resurrected mine by drying it and submerging it in diesel, it started working again but failed few days later (someone from the forum said that they will fail again)![]()
The small motherboard and transistors needed to be replaced, I am not a 100% sure how long it will last but it is working fine for me now.
So I am looking to buy broken ones, refurbish them and offer them for reasonable prices on eBay.

There are no transistors or motherboard in the actual motor, it is literally just a motor. Once cleaned and dried (I put mine in a 90 degree oven for an hour) there is no reason for them to just "fail" shortly afterwards.

Mike, how important is the ultrasonic cleaner in this process? Can it be resurrected without this?
Cheers
I'd love to see that pic. afaik there are only brushes in there (on a brush bridge) and maybe a noise surperssant capacitor.benv6 said:There are on mine and you can see it through the wholes, I will be sending out some pics soon.

What are you going to refurb and how much are you paying for a motor?
GuidoK said:You think you can remove the back plate of the motor and get it reseated properly?
It a tab-pressed fit. So you have to re-press / re-punch those tabs.
If you can open it up and close it again properly there is no need to let it run in diesel or something like that. You can take a brush with cleaning solution etc, polish the collector, and refurb (at least re-edge) the brushes etc.

It's not needed, I just used it because I have one lol. A good rinse in liquid followed by thorough drying is the key.
