not being funny, but I just went the opposite way - 2.5i to a 120d MSport - I now get DOUBLE the mileage for the same amount of diesel - if your a 'poor student' the last thing you need is a 3.0 petrol car...

Options mean VERY little now - you may think your spec makes a difference but it doesn't much anymore - you might see £500 more for all your options (some aren't really options - most 3's have the light up handles etc as part of the comfort pack etc...)

You will find you will need to pay a fair bit to go to a 3.0 which won't be terminally ill or well worn...my 03 with 58k was sold by the dealer for £12k!!!

ok, I'm a “rich” student. :|

I dont agree your "options" words. but whatever.

U did a very very nice p/x. how much you paid more for your new 120d? also, pls pm me the nice dealer's name...maybe I could do a deal with them..

it is true about the options.. they mean bugger all.
Go look on a dealer's website, you'll find an avergage of about 200-500 difference between the same cars depending on options..

all depends. if the m sports kit was extremely rare, it'd be worth top dollar.
as pretty much every 4th 1 series seems to have it, it's not worth that much at all.

If optional extra's were so worth while, you'd see a massive price difference in the ranges of Z4.
Cruise Control, MFSW, CD Changer, Nav, Heated Seats, Auto-tint mirrors, comfort pack, paddleshift, top hifi, carver, aero kit, spoiler, etc etc etc.
There's masses, but the price range for any given pair of Z4 really only fluctuates a couple of hundred for comparable mileage, history and age.

It's a sad but true fact.

I did not see too many 120d has m sports in autotrader and PH.
yeah,I agreed you words. but i am sure my car is more than 8000+500..

I think you need to look up option resale value - you can say whatever, but your assumption without evidence versus people whos actually dealt with dealers lately means that your misinformed if you think your 'options' are going to make you get much more - days of heafty premiums for options are WELL gone.

I am not saying i will make my all options as the new price. They are all have reasonal price. and I am not trader, I am not selling the car to make money.I have asked some traders, they all gave me much more than 8500 pounds.
I dont think px with trader is a good idea as they will gain you twice. :x

Original Price £21,050
Franchised Dealer £10,670
Independent Dealer £10,280
Private Good £9,300
Private Poor £7,630
Part Exchange £8,130

I am VERY surprised they would give you more than £8500 and if they do bite the hand off, because the above numbers are parkers figures for an 05 with 50k on the clock - your options would be cancelled out pretty much by the 5k extra mileage so.... £8500 is worth trading at.

For a BMW AUC Z4 you will pay around £11k for a high milage early 03 - if you go private you may get that down to around £9-9500

Either way - if you are getting a Z4 and money for your car...then there's something very wrong with the Z'd.

Sorry but facts and numbers are facts and numbers 8) - Don't beleive me? Try this...
