If anyone has an intake boot hanging about I would like to buy or even just borrow for a few days (anyone changed to an Afe ) ...My car seems to have developed the famed ghost whistle and Im trying to eliminate possible sources...I've had the whole airbox system apart and cannot see anything that may be causing a vacuum leak but it may be worth trying a new boot..Cheers

I have an intake i might have the bit you need. But mine will be an m54b30 and probably different to yours.

It's the part that goes from air box to engine block that is renounded for cracking and is different on the 3.0 as it has a separate outlet to meet the sound hen- I'll find pics and post up.
