WANTED: 3.0i M54 Engine

Hi everyone,

Anyone know if anyone has a 3.0i M54 Engine for sale?

Can be bare engine or complete engine with all ancillaries.

Must be loads around, fitted to 3, 5 and X5 series among others.

There is but rather than getting one off eBay that's probably full of lies about age and millage and what not I thought I'd try a trusty forum member first =)

Might be worth contacting stevie.w he removed his and fitted a 5.0 v10, he might still have it lying around.

What's happened to your engine out of interest??

It blew up on a trackday, will have to find stevie.w on the forum, if his 5.0 v10 didn't cost to much I may have to go for his route too

I know engine swaps have been discussed on here before with pretty much everyone saying it's not worth it and it's better to buy a Z4M, but if you had to replace the engine what would be the cheapest upgraded engine?

Like for like, 3.0i for 3.0i is looking at £1,500 with labour and all

S54 (Z4M engine) alone is about £2,500 - £3000 for the engine alone, so with labour it's probably £4000

Is there any other options around ?
