Wanted 224s or CSLs

I have just taken a couple of the wheels of my car to check the measurements stamped on the inside.

Just to clarify, the wheels on my E85 Z4M are the following:

Rears = 19" 9.5J ET38 and also had a 2.5 mm spacer fitted

Fronts = 19" 8.5J ET36 no spacer

The rears would usually be et 27/30ish for M cars so possibly intended for E90 ?

The rears 9.5j et 38 will fit any non M Z4s fine ( & clearly Ms too but ideally want a wider spacer than 2mm ( 10mm better )
The fronts , , , 8.5j et36 could divide forum opinion here :? "possibly" ok on a roady with 225 35 tyre & if car not significantly lowered , maybe a slight rub on Si coupe when driving spiritedly ? they are borderline fitment numbers imo as i know members who have had rubbing with 8.5 et 38 19s & 8j et 35 19s until tyre sizes were reduced to a slight stretch

Oh! Should have mentioned they come with a set of different bolts too (? longer?) that have the 'Hex' on the inside of the bolt and the specific tool for these bolts.

In an attempt to clear up the offset thing on a 3.0Si coupe I've received specific size recommendations from CM Wheels........

19x8.5 et38
19x9.5 et40

We have Hyper Silver, satin gunmetal and Hyper Black

Tyre sizes 235/35/19 Front
265/30/19 Rear

So tyres exactly what I have...and wheels very, very close ...with an ET difference of only 2 both front and back that a couple of mm spacer would compensate for?

Even that surprise me because I've just been into the garage to look at the Z4M and visually at least (and it maybe as a result of the curvature of the spokes of the wheels themselves) but the wheels completely fill the width of the car at the front and I wouldn't want them to stick out more. Or does Offset work the other way round i.e. would a higher Offset figure make the wheels more 'inset' into the wheel-arches, if you see what I mean? Like a narrower track?

Yes - A higher offset ET number will mean the centreline of the wheel is set further IN to the car. Lower offset numbers push the wheels out which is why there is a limit before rubbing starts to become an issue, particularly on the front wheels at the outer edge as the steering is turned.

The hubs are set further in on Z4Ms, so the standard 18" wheels have lower offsets than non M cars.

Ah! That would explain it Chris. I don't think one would the front wheels pushed out more than they are on my Z4M. Thanks.
