the E85/E86 owners part of your comment isn't what I was really replying to, just that as with anything, if you pay for a some kind of 'miracle' service its easier to make yourself believe it worked, then admit to yourself you wasted hundreds on snake oil. So when reading reviews is a good idea to take them with a pinch of salt.

This is going off topic a bit, but in the thread above, an A3 owner took his car for an 'Engine carbon clean' (sounds similar to Terra Clean if you remember that). The website says they run water through the intake and it clears out all the carbon.
There is no way water would clear the carbon from the N54 intake valves. I soaked all the ports in a combination of carb cleaner and petrol. Even then it took quite a lot of elbow grease to clean.
I suspect the person doing the 'carb clean' just manipulated the dyno reading.
