the wheels are in the stock bmw ferric grey which looks bronze in certain lights and light grey in others , they are absolutely beautiful looking wheels and very light, very aggressive fitment however and incredibly difficult to find.

i love the stock gear knob, feels great to me, i like the weight, the height and the action, actually i think I'm one of the few that really loves the z4m gearbox,

With every manual BMW I've owned, the first mod is always the ZHP knob. I've even seen myself take one when collecting the car

However, like you, I've never had a problem with the gearbox, even cold 1st to 2nd. It's a good box for sure, but no S2000 box which I had before! Those 3 "mods" however bring it much closer.

You have Virba engine mounts which probably helps too.

Mate - I can tell you from experience that convertible Z4 + even slightly clued up Son = proper bonding

You'll love it, and as he gets older who knows... You might finally get on a meet... Though we'll all be driving Zimmer frame 6's by then :lol:

Agreed. I bought a ZHP but ended up fitting it to my E46 instead. In that car it made a big difference but the ///M is better with the CDV deleted and the OEM knob. I didn't get on with a clutch stop in the ///M either as it didn't allow the clutch to fully disengage.

I have no need for a diesel anymore so I've recently swapped my 320d daily driver for an S2000 GT. I must say gwatson is right it, it has the best gear change I've encountered. The throw is short and precise whilst the pedals are perfectly positioned for heel-and-toe. There's something very special about achieving a perfect screaming down-change at 9k rpm whilst braking hard into a corner. The turn in out of the box puts the stock Z4M to shame too, and it's much more predictable and progressive at the limit. It's a bit unrefined as a DD though :roll:

Beedub, your car's looking awesome as ever and is a real credit to you I'm in the process of making a few engine modifications that should return 375bhp without forced induction followed by a remap including removing the Vmax limiter. Once I'm bored with that, I'll pay you that long-overdue visit to discuss superchargers :lol:

i have the VT "race" mounts and I'm sure they are making a colossal differences in more area than one, the motor barely even moves around compared to my stock mounts.

id love to have you down anytime my friend, i will get the car up on the air, under trays off and show you everything. These s/c kits aren't quit the plug and play they state but i can promise, its no less relaible than before, maybe.. just maybe a touch too far in such a small car, can't wait to see what your doing BTW... can you post some pics of the car as she currently stands???

and, yes i love the stock gearnob, it just works for me, but if were talking great drive trains, i have to stay the gearbox in the mx5 was a total peach.

They really suit your car....think they would have to be hyper silver or something to suit an interlagos....do you know if they are forged being made for an M3? Also I might have /read / seen somewhere that you track your car (sorry if I have got this wrong) but how the hell do you keep it so mint!! is there some special super coating going on?

Yeah the car is used heavily on the track , but sprinting so the car is on track alone and timed, this keeps the car looking as good as new really as your not having to worry about others around you / rock chips etc (unless u crash)... i built the car around the sprinting scene that i grew up with.

On the cars cleaness, well I love cleaning and pampering as much as driving , I find it therapeutic, but in reality its easy in a car that very rarely see's rain and has only done 12k miles, it has got to be the closest z4m to new in terms of condition I've ever seen... i enjoy keeping it that way.

those are gorgeous and are definitely genuine. They were made by cromodora (Italian), they make bentley, porsche and amg wheels, the 260m is a rare wheel euro zone wheel, they often sell for the above price , i got stung on the first set i purchased which 2 wheels were cracked!!! i was gutted, it took me another 6 months to get a set that was 'Perfect" and still in the factory ferric grey paint. Due to the lack of cars ordered with these they trade hands at high cost.


Also on the oem side decal, I'm fully ware it looks awesome with the black HT, but I'm honest enough to say i don't think it will look so cool without the large black top Tieing it in nicely.
