VW R32 twin turbo vs BMW Z4

Delete this thread, we do not want to see road racing on here, Take this to chav.com
I have NO interest in it either, it was clearly NOT a M Z4, yes the R32 was fast but will soon blow up no doubt. I've been in a standard one and was utterly unimpressed.

Stupid chavs.

 big deal...roads not that busy.

Well I'm sure if one of your close friends of family member was killed as a result of that driving then I'm sure you would care. Road IS busy for that sort of racing, be different if no other cars insight.

I cannot believe this thread has not been deleted? Mods - why not, please tell me.

shabba, as Danny said this has been on here loads, the guy in the Z4 has been a regular on here for a long time.

TBH nobody has ever complained before, it was on the autobahn in Germany hence the higher speeds involved.

The clue to the country of origin was the traffic travelling in the opposite direction on the left hand side. It was Plowy who was driving the Z4 and the clip is indeed as old as the hills.

My friend or family member should be paying attention to road conditions and making adjustments as necessary.

Thats a busy road, the one were discussing is not..., God forbid the focused driver has to change lanes once  Manhattan traffic is more dangerous than this.

So maybe they are or are nt paying attention to road conditions.. be it in Germany. Manhattan or wherever matey, no one glancing in their door mirror wanting to overtake is going to know plonka or whatever he calls himself is closing at 140 mph. just cos this blokes been around for a while makes it all okay does it

The point is Mik it's on the autobahn where it's legal to do these speeds on unrestricted roads which are much more suited to very fast driving than our motorways. On these roads the awareness of fast approaching vehicles from behind is much greater than in Britain. The way I see it they aren't racing each other, just trying to demonstrate the difference in acceleration between the cars. If you can tell me one point in that video where another vehicle and it's occupants were put at risk then let me know because I've missed it.

If the video was in Britain then I'd tend to agree more with your view.

It does make you wonder why we are not trained thus in the UK too anyway... MIRROR, signal, manoeuvre... not looking, or being able to judge speeds of approaching cars, at 140mph, or 70mph, will be bad news full stop, and in my view is a core skill to be able to drive safely.
Afterall, it is no good having on your tombstone "I saw them coming but pulled out anyway because I 'assumed' everyone drove at no more than 70mph" Even if the other person was 100% in the wrong for speeding, YOU had total control of the situation... to use assumed speed as an excuse is a bad one if you are dead!

I guess that is the UK drivers growing attitude these days, others are to blame it seems, when people could have driven better themselves :(

Isn't this where you, as the driver travelling very quickly, have to be much more observant than the normal numpty and plan your escape route for as many eventualities as you can, changing them every second or so as the conditions change.

I rarely (not ever) get into a position where I have to slam on in normal, day-to-day driving (the exception being when someone decides to go psycho on a Z4-Forum cruise :P ) and I'll normally be able to simply lift off and cruise up to the back of them, by which time they've overtaken and pulled back in, or I've slowed to the same speed as them anyway.

Anybody else going to spit their dummy out?

Jeez lighten up a bit, their driving did not affect you. Or even anyone on that road for that matter.

I would like to see this 550bhp R32 8)

A workmate did this video for the tuner/owner...

Very very brisk. I think this was about 600bhp, and managed to push around the 190mph area.
