Vred tyre pressure

Hi, getting rid of my RFT's tomorrow and based on forum feedback going for a full set of Ultrac Sessantas but can't seem to find out what the general opinion is from the forum on what the tyre pressures should be. I've searched on here and google and have read various options, keep the same as the bmw sticker for RFT's or go lower or in fact higher. Can anyone confirm what they have found works best through trial and error? Thanks in advance!!

Mine are currently at 32/35. Same sizes as above.

They were fitted at 40/40, which feels like you're floating slightly above the road instead of rolling on it!

I used a chart to work it out: http://www.fileswap.com/dl/O9rsiaAgJ/

OEM:

225/40R18 88W @ 33psi = 1145 load
255/35R18 90W @ 36psi = 1323 load

Vreds:

225/40R18 92Y XL = 1145 load @ 33psi
255/35R18 94Y XL = 1330 load @ 37psi

So basically, the OEM pressures should be a good starting point. This makes sense because the Vreds have a higher load index but are XL construction so need a higher pressure than a standard load tyre at loads below their max.

Thanks for the info, I read on another forum (E90) that people with Vreds generally ran 3psi over what BMW stated for RFT's on the sticker to compensate for the softer tyre walls of the non RFT's however these proven figures seem to go against that? I think I will go with your figures MrPT and see how it feels. Thanks!

I am also getting rid of the Bridgestone runflats And fitting Vreds tomorrow on my S drive 3.0 E 89 but not Ultrac Sessantas I am going for the Ultrac Vorti's My gut feeling based on the various opinions on pressures is to go for 34 front 225X40 X18 and 36 rears 225X35x18 this will be my starting point.would be interested to hear any comments/experiences based on similar situation.

Had them fitted today and have only been for a quick drive but definitely a major improvement on RFTs the fitter did them as per the OEM recommendation so I changed it as per MrPT 33/37 so will see how I get on!

Checked mine & 34 fronts / 39 rears (maybe lost a little ?)
The lower pressures will feel better comfort & ride but if you do a lot of miles motorway especially & the tyres are under or over then it won't take long to show uneven wear
just keep an eye on them

i've had 30 all round and i'm currently on 33 f 36 r.

at 30 psi, they look a bit flat, but 36 on the rear's seems to make it a lot more tail happy.

somewhere in between 30-36 would be ideal i guess.

Had my Vred Vorti's fitted last week and went away for the weekend, some 300 miles later blown away. used my gut feeling of 34 front and 36 rears, worked for me, car seemed well balanced.

as time goes bye will monitor tyre wear.
