Hi - would very much like to be part of this forum as a Z4 owner so I hope you don't mind me offering my car here for a possible part exchange up to around £10k, swap (maybe there's a Z4 owner out there with kids on the way and wants something more sensible!) or sale at £7,995 ovno.

The car is a black Volvo S40 2.0D SE registered on the 04/03/05, rare spec - 29,700 miles, 2 owners, serviced at 12,000 and 25,000 miles (12,000 mile services intervals) next service at 37,622 miles), 6 speed manual, full beige/cream leather, Volvo Sat Nav (£2.5k), Heated seats, dual climate control, integrated Volvo phone system (sim card slot etc), uprated 6 disc Volvo stereo, Alloys, cruise control, PAS, 50mpg, £145/year tax, insurance group 10, 134BHP & 320 Nm torque - have I missed anything?! Photos can be found below (it can take a minute for them all to appear):

The reason I am selling is because my parents moved to France and I bought the car to travel there regularly, well I managed one trip from Scotland (live near Edinburgh) and I'll be flying from now on! The trip is just too long so I am going to get something a little less sensible.

Only consider a 3.0 or 2.0 Z4 lowish miles and FSH.

Willing to travel anywhere in the UK if your Z4 is good!

Many thanks.

ODD CHICE OF ENGINES- WHY SO EXTREME?

Hi Paddy - it's a good question - basically both engines appeal to me because firstly the 2.0 is so ecomomical but I don't think I'll be able to afford it at my budget. The only realistic option there for is the 2.2, 2.5 or 3.0 and if that's the case then i'd rather have the power of the 3.0 as the MPG & tax figures are so similar between each of these engines.

Cheers.

Clear as mud! :? What did I miss??

You can't afford the 2.0l but you can the 3.0??

2.0 only came out in March 2006 whereas the 3.0 was around since 2003 so he has more chance of getting a 2003 3.0 than a 2006 2.0 for his budget

Arghhh... I understand. Thanks :)

Actually it was 2005 I think, but still the same principle. Also, the prices seem to get very close after a few years, so that a 3.0, 2.5 and 2.2 might all be around the same price, in which case it could make sense to go for the 3.0 instead, if you can stomach the fuel bills

Exactly right - I've been driving cars which have returned around the 30 mpg mark for years (e.g. TT 225, BMW 330i etc) and it is only recently that I have gone to diesel (50 mpg) it'll be a strain going back but I believe that the 3.0 does return a fairly good mpg (comparatively e.g. Boxster) on bigger roads and for the performance increase against the 2.2/2.5 you are only loosing a mile or two per gallon.

Come on you know you want to - look it's been reduced n'all! :D

Hi all,

As mentioned in another post it looks like I'll have sold the S40 by Sunday afternoon. Just wondering if anyone sees or knows of a good 3.0i Z4 for sale around £10k preferably grey or silver and under 40,000 miles (obviously FBMWSH etc prefered too) - can you stick a post on here?

Unfortunately going to miss out on gwatson's Z but that's the kind of look I want i.e. grey with the ellipsoid alloys & hardtop.

Much appreciated, cheers. :)
