Vibration through the steering wheel after braking from high speeds?

Discs - mine did exactly the same, looked to have recent discs too! Changed them out, no more vibration.
My vote would be discs too... had the same on a previous car and resolved it by changing the discs!
It can be tested using a special gauge at a decent garage if you don't want to just throw money at it and hope for the best!
If it's not a warped disc then like smartbear said it's probably a track rod end!

Another vote for warped discs here. I inherited a van that had warped discs and couldn't feel it at lower speeds, it was Awful at a reasonable speed though.
I don't have any 1st hand experience with Mtec but a fair few people on here have them and like them. They certainly look good too. Once mine are worn I'm going to put Mtec on.

If they're new discs it's possible that they weren't fitted straight on the hub, might be misaligned.
Try removing the front discs and refitting them
It's highly unlikely to be the rears too if you only get it through the wheel

I used to have this when I first started using the car after a winter layup, it lasted about 4 weeks and then went away. I had the exact same experience on my Mini when it was parked up for 6 weeks, then it went away.
My theory is that when the car is parked up for a long time the disc surface gets surface corrosion from rain exposure but the area where the pad is does not. when the brakes are then used the surface corrosion is rubbed away faster than the uncorroded section which leaves high spots. Over time, it all levels itself out.
You should be able to establish if it is discs by jacking up and spinning the wheels, you will hear/feel any high spots as the wheel spins.

I'd lay money on it being warped front discs. I fitted new MTec Grooved discs and EBC Red Stuff pads all round back in April just before Craig3.2s Galloway run. On the way home from Scotland I was aware of the steering wheel 'shimmying' when braking between 50-30mph.
A week or two later I had my front discs skimmed whilst on the car at Suthers Star Garage, Walmer Bridge, Preston. Superb job ! You end up with two 'new' perfectly parallel braking surfaces spinning true in relation to the hub. Also there is the added advantage that a disc that has warped due to excessive heat is very unlikely to do so again after skimming....fit new discs and you may find yourself back in the same boat again

You would have to eliminate the most obvious cause which is disc run-out but need to find out what's caused it or the new set will go the same way. I'm not sure on the TIS runout spec but even .1mm - .15mm (3-4 thou") i.e tiny will cause a problem so a spot of grit on the hub or mis-torqued when fitting can do it. Personally I'd suspect a disc run-out caused by caliper sticking when hot.

Jack the front and spin the wheel, you may "hear" the rubbing. May be worth removing the disc and cleaning the two surfaces just I case there's rust or foreign bodies I there
