Has anybody else had this problem? I have had a really anoying vibrating noise that sounded like a heat sheild rattling but turned out to be the drive belt vibrating in the middle between the water pump and alternator, the longest throw of the belt. I bought a new belt but the noise still happens. It occurs at a certain rev range and cuts in and out once past this range. The belt tensioner seems OK and there doesn't seem to be any bearing play in both the water pump and alternator. My vehicle is the 2 litre using the longer belt length variant, apparently there are 2 different lengths which make ordering a new belt a nightmare. Has anybody any ideas what might be going on, the noise is so annoying and quite loud.
