Just looked on Regttansfers and they have 1 IT for £245,000

Crazy money

I remember seeing a Merc SL being driven by a blonde a few years ago, the reg was M1 NGE, made me chuckle.

If he's got that much cash, should have bought a better motor

He may or may not have that much cash but it would seem that the plate is for sale and that's the price to purchase it.

I see quite a lot of 'expensive' reg plates like 48 SV for example on a vehicle worth probably a few hundred quid if your lucky. Some 1 number 1 letter plates on a golf. Sometimes people have plates they've inherited or been gifted and that means more than the monetary value on the open market.

My mate has a very old Edinburgh Reg, he's been offered well over 70k for it but it was his grandfathers first registration and it's going nowhere.

Both myself and my mother have been contacted by people and companies looking to purchase our registrations for over 15k each, again it means more to us than to sell it. Even if I didn't have a car, my plate would be on retention.

I suppose people will pay if they feel the plate is the one for them.

Best I've seen, a few years back, was THE 911. On a 911.

The guy who had THE 911 lived in Bristol when I was a kid. The rumour was that he lent it to Porsche for the Geneva Motor Show for 2 weeks every year and in return they would respray and service the car on an annual basis.
I beleive he then sold it about 10 years back.

Theres a plate around our way thats been on a few different cars that W33 COW.
She must think quite highly of herself.

An old friend of mine still as 03 it's been in the family years. God knows what it's worth

There's what I assume to be a hairdresser locally who has B10 JOB.

I've just bought a cheap plate with my initials to go on my X3 direct from DVLA for £250 but regtransfers were advertising the same plate for £499.

£245k for a number plate. :o Could have a nice little house or the corner of an oil painting for that.

The DVLA have regular auctions, the last one in November saw this plate: 1000 0 go for £30,000

also several Z4 plates sold - CNZ 4 went for £1,600

Saw one a few years back. This guy had steam Rally stickers all up the sides of his rear window and his reg. no. was EN51 NES...
