Very Close to Getting One!

Hi all.
I'm new to the forum but have been lurking for a while.

Went to view an Alpine White Z4 20i M-Sport (with only 5 miles on the clock) yesterday. I've fancied a Z4 for a while now and currently own a MINI Cooper S. Car before that was an S2000 and i'm kind of missing the top-down motoring to be honest.

Anyway....i'm hoping to take it for a test drive this weekend with a view to buying if all is well.

My only concern is that it may not be powerful enough, especially having owned an S2000 but only time will tell.

I'll update you shortly and pics will follow if I buy! 8)

Good luck!

Surely BMW are running out of plain white paint by now lol... As for performance, having driven the 20i, it keeps up with traffic nicely but you can't compare it to the s2000 as that's an entirely different animal. Lighter, faster, revs vs torque etc. If you're wanting a cruiser etc then the 20i is fine, 28i is more fun if you can afford it.

Just picked up my 2.0is on Saturday having owned an s2000 a few years ago and have to agree that you will certainly notice the difference. The Z4's performance is much more easily accessible in the real world but ultimately much slower on a track. One big plus for the Z4 is the handling which is much more predictable and no where near as skittish particularly in the wet. For most drivers, on a wet day in the UK, I'd put my money on the 2.0is being faster on anything other than an arrow straight road

Well the whole reason I got away from the S2000 is because I crashed it (in the wet) so I know exactly what you mean. Think I'm ready for a cruiser now though. If only I could find a 28i for the same money....that would be ideal. Not many about though!
