Hi,

Is it normal that I can't get the blower to blow at the window when the car is cold without pushing the demister button to do it? If I just twist the control knob to the vertical-up position the vent doesn't open for 5-10 minutes when the car is cold. It works fine on the button demister immediately.

I usually hear my front windscreen air vent open shortly after starting the car. Wouldn't say 5 mins but maybe a minute after starting the car?

Plus One :) Never timed it but it not too long after starting
 
I checked this morning. The blower works fine on any setting other than straight up on the windscreen. You can hear that the vents are closed unless you press the demister button, then the fan comes through instantly, press the button again (with the blower set to blow the screen) and you hear the vents close by the fan tone and the air stops coming out of the top vents. It took about 10 minutes this morning. Is it temperature dependent? It was about -6 this morning!
