Variable Fuel Leak

Mr Plod may help with your fuel economy. The first summer I had the Z4MR I drove it hard and averaged 18 litres / 100km (16 mpg). I received a "friendly" call from the police on my home phone and had a half hour chat about how complaints had been received and how such a car was bound to attract attention when driven in a spirited manner. I was followed by Mr Plod in marked cars a couple of times over the next month for no apparent reason (probably some sort of "requires intimidation" list that I was on). My fuel consumption on public roads increased to 13 litres / 100km (22 mpg) and I seemed to drop off "the list".spearman said:Only having had the ///M for 2 weeks I seem to have a variable fuel leak which is directly related to the sound pedal!Damn things thirsty (but well worth it)!
I now even out the fuel consumption with a bit of track and auto cross time, having reached a new all-time fuel consumption record of 100 litres per 100km (3 mpg) and 2mm of tyre tread in 20km of autocross runs during one session last year.

At least they gave you a warning first!No police attention yet, but I'm always cautious to check the rear view before itching the spot. Still no where close to your 3mpg! ). The sound of the thing is too good at motivating acceleration. Can't wait for the sun for some roof-down sound
