VANOS problems?

I have had an intermittent engine light on for the last few days

Dealer said today they think it is a VANOS issue and it needs to go in for 2 days to do more tests

Any idea what this may mean? Am hoping it's a warranty job

Hmm, Had my Vanos worked on after 200,000 miles and never got an engine light before that.

Its a very well documented issue, loads of info so have a read and don't them them sting you for big £££
