Pound is on an absolute high at the mo' - must be the highest for several years at 1.23 euros - understand about the improvement of the economy / possible rise in interest rates etc but with all the trouble in Syria , Ukraine ( oil ) this is still a bit puzzling - I'll be able to buy a few more pints of mythos next week :)

I transfer £ to euro quite regular through the year & i got 1.22 in town yesterday , its been a 5 year grind to get there but look,s likely to hold for some time though unlikely to go much higher .
When it was parity it made every jaunt over the channel seem really expensive , especially as i can still remember the heady day,s of 1.58 ! :o
Although currently trying to sell a property in Euros & likely bring the funds back to UK so at that time i,d like a severe downturn :P can,t win

I've been transferring between sterling and euro for about 12 years , highest was 1.48 when I bought a house and the lowest was about 1.07 , that one hurt as I was building a house at the time so it wasn't exactly holiday spending money !

Whats the £-$ rate at the moment? I'm off to California in a few weeks and want to make the most of it.

Euro is at 1.26 today, making it real easy to live here for a few weeks at a time. Also working in Eire but paid in Sterling, so best of both worlds.

Great time to buy in Europe as the prices of property have not really recovered yet and the Euro is so low, but not a time to sell up and repatriate funds...

Personally I think it's only a matter of time before the £ starts to look less attractive than some other currencies and it will sink again.
