Value my wheels - Atomic CSL 19"

Hi all,

I've recently bought an '04 3.0 Z4 and have decided the ride on the 19" CSL (Atomic) wheels is not quite what I want it to be, so I'm starting to look into selling my current wheels and tyres in exchange of some 18" MV2's.

The wheels are absolutely immaculate apart from one very very minuscule scuff on the front left, and they're wrapped in Falken 452's with at least 5mm remaining all round.

Tyre sizes are 225/35/19 fronts and 265/30/19 rears. No idea on offsets etc.. having not bought the wheels but I assume they can only be of certain sizes to fit those tyres.

In addition, what sort of price should I be looking at paying for a good condition set of MV2's? It seems that £200 isn't too far off judging by some of the wheels for sale on here with some knackered tyres.

Any valuations you can give me would be great!

Thanks,

Chris

Chrissy - always difficult to get an item valued.
In the end its what you expect for them and what someone is willing to pay - unfortunately your own criticism of the ride on the 19" rims may put a prospective purchaser off :(

Some pics & the all important offsets will aid your sale as i suspect they would also fit other cars than just Z4s
Ballpark figure ? give or take 10-15% £600 ?

I'd also be interested potentially depending on your location, the offset of the CSLs and if you would consider a swap for some 224ms (the alloys from the Z4M) with Goodyear Eagle f1 assy2s with approx 6mm tread all round...

Drop me a pm if you would like to work something out!

Cheers

Ed - thought you were in hospital? Save your dosh and buy a z4mc! :poke:

Andy, I finally made it out last week! I'm hobbling about on crutches for the next 3-4months whilst the bloody leg repairs itself. Figured a set of CSLs might cheer me up a bit Haha! An Mcoupe isn't going to happen for a little while now sadly. I've managed to do the injury at the worst time; not stated with the new company yet and finished my notice with the old, so right now I'm technically redundant :( give it some time!

Sorry for the thread high jack op!

My best guess.....

New those wheels without tyres would be £500-£600. Tyres £500 or so. So Brand new you are looking at £1100. So i would say £450-£500 would be reasonable price - considering they are used.. are an acquired taste and one will need a touch up)

MV's without tyres (or little tread) which require a refurb would be around £200.. mint condition are closer to £350- £400.

Thanks for all the advice/valuations everyone - it's roughly the ballpark I was expecting. I'll try and get some pictures up shortly (am away from the car for 5 days now).

I'm located in South East London and a swap for 224's definitely interest me if they're 18" as I suspect! What size are the tyres? I'm a bit marginal on ground clearance with the Eibach springs fitted, so would need to make sure I maintain the same or better overall tyre diameter.

My understanding is that there's no special about the fitment of these to my Z4 - I'll have a bit more of a poke around this weekend.

The curbing isnt too bad.. just a minor rash which will be under £40 to bring back....

Thats a nice looking Z you have though... quad setup and not seen a front lip like that before

Yeah it's pretty minor - I should have remembered having washed and polished the damn thing over the weekend!..

Thanks :) I'm not so sure about the front lip but I'm definitely a fan of the quad exhaust!

They have a different offset to the 224's you are after...

The 224 will stick out of your rear arch more.... I think 2mm proud of the arch was what someone measured ?

I would guess the Atomic rears are 9.5'' with an offset of probably et33 or et27.
The 224s are 9'' rears with an offset et30 which means they would sit further in either way.

Eh...

If the rear offset was ET27 (M3 or Z4M) then surely the rear wheel would sit further out..

Just like all other non M Z4's that fit 224's on ?

If the rear offset of the Atomic wheels was et27 and the 224s are et30 the 224s would sit 9mm further in due to their width being 9'' as opposed to 9.5'' on the Atomic wheels

So...With that info...

The atomics cant be that ET..

We know the 224's stick out too far on the non M cars,so the atomics are gonna be about an ET40,maybe even as high as 45..
