V8 Breakfast

Yesterday a few friends and I decided to have an early morning blast up to Inverurie and grab ourselves a V8 Breakfast at the Fennel Restaurant.

My friends for the day were an Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10 Quattro

with the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe and a Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet joining us at a café outside Forfar.

I have to say that the zed looked great and performed really well, it certainly didn’t disappoint me despite the others motors having slightly more horses :D . The only negative being how quiet my exhaust sounded compared to the R8 and Astons hypnotic sounds

The Fennel is well known to Scottish based members and has been the place to stop off for a breakfast on forum runs in the past, if you have never been and happen to be in the area then it is certainly worth a visit as the food is superb. The restaurant for those that don’t know it is a popular place at weekends for petrol heads to head for and which attracts some awesome cars both new and old alike. I thought I would share our day along with a few photos I managed to take, only a few as we were too busy driving. https://www.facebook.com/TheFennel http://www.fennelrestaurant.co.uk/gallery?s=v8-breakfast

The Fennel's owner is a true petrol head and heres a picture of him in his lovely AC Cobra CRS

Total mileage for the day was 317 miles and well worth every penny spent on petrol :D

That's pretty exotic machinery your with Nick - no wonder you keep the Zed clean! Audi's got the best parking spot

It's great to have a place like that to meet or head to - something we need in Newcastle - plenty of meeting places for motorcycles don't know of any for cars.

Hope to see you this weekend or next.

I hope that's his daughter getting out of the Cobra!

Looks like a nice little jaunt.

He was giving a few people a quick blast around the town, I think that is his chefs girlfriend

Thanks John, superb roads and the weather was good so even manaed to get some roof down time as well, something the other 3 cars could only dream about

It was a great run out, there were a few Cobras which turned up at the Fennel, one was a 1962 model and all sounded lovely. Incidently, all the guys I was with are ALSO OWNERS of a Cobra themselves, lucky devils is what I say :driving:

Some good looking cars with you there nick.... I would still pick the zed over them :P

I'm with you on that one, but its funny Craig the amount of attention that the zed gets, even from owners of R8's and Astons!
