How do you go about getting full postcode search and night mode?

Neither of these are features of the MKIV nav computer. Some people have reverse engineered the firmware to add them using non standard firmware which is anything after v32 (v32.2 etc)

Full postcode is only available by adding the postcodes as an additional poi database that you search through the standard poi search tools in the nav.

It might be an obvious question, but are you sure you don't have v32? What version does it show on the screen? 4-1/00 is current (1/00 is the firmware part)

Not quite. Postcode search is working the same as on tomtom or similar satnav, you enter the country ,than town or postcode , only the speed cameras are listed under the POI

Not on standard firmware. On a standard nav computer with a standard disc it only searches for the main part of the postcode not the full one. The only way to get a full postcode in a MKIV is to hack the disc, trust me on this

download v32,2 from the link above, than copy to CD ( yes CD ) ,
