Using waxoyl-

Hi all -would you advise me hosing the inner wheel arches,drying with hairdryer then coating in waxoyl as a winter preventative?

No. I've fettled classics for decades and whilst Waxoyl ideal for box sections and exposed areas on old-style, untreated bodywork it's completely unnecessary on the Z4 which has fully coated steel or alloy. It stinks, drips, is a fire hazard near hot components and can actually seal moisture and dirt in causing hidden problems. Much better to keep areas clean and make sure any surface damage is properly attended to.

100% with you on that Ewazix I was in the body trade for just short of 50 years and just found that type of product not much use, and as you say Ewazix Zeds have all the protection they need from new
So dont wast your time andysat

It's been discussed on here before and the consensus then was not to use it on a Z4

Thanks chaps IIRC i mentioned it when i got my zed and it didnt seem to be a good idea then -just wondered if opinions had changed-i just dont like the idea of spraying a hose up into the wheel arch lip, as surely the water will just sit there this time of year?

No different than driving it around in the wet Andy, don't think you will have problem, unless the arch liner is rubbing the wing.

Bearing in mind Z4's date back to 2003, I havent heard of any corrosion issues except for rusty old Coupe tailgates :evil:
