Using small insurance companies

I currently am insured with MoreThan on the M, and I pay about £900 a year. Thought I'd run the details through Confused.com and was amazed to find some seriously cheaper deals. The problem being is that I haven't heard of any of the companies offering the cheap deals. Has anyone used/heard of the following:

OneQuoteDirect
Premium Choice
Insurance4my.com
Autonet
Endsleigh

Is it worth the few hundred pounds saving to go with an insurer that might be a load of grief if the worst happens?

Exactly - Endlseigh are fairly well known but as pvr says, its the underwriter that counts, even with the larger companies.

Always worth Googling their names for users experiences as well.

At least I can find the pub with my satnav, unlike someone else I could mention :P

BMW driver seeks adrenaline rush

The Sat Nav isn’t always right – as a BMW driver found out when he was left hanging on the edge of a cliff, having followed directions down a Pennine footpath in Todmorden. The car was dangling over a railway bridge, which meant trains had to be stopped whilst the vehicle was recovered, and resulted in the driver being sent to court for driving without due care & attention.

Was this you PVR ?

was insured with zenith through endsleigh before and they were faultless when I had to claim off them. would highly recommend.
