Use Carly app to setup fogs or dipped headlights as DRLs?

Hi guys

I just wondered if anyone knows or has done this, is it possible to use the Carly for BMW wifi od2 adapter and full software version to set the fog lights or headlight dipped as drls i.e on in the daytime with no rear lights and if so how would you get the rear lights on at night? I only have the basic facelift 2.5i se version of the e85 so normal fogs and halogen headlights. I was used to using drls in my previous car and worry sometimes other drivers are not fully aware of my presence being so low and I have had cars pull out at junctions in front of me. I don't feel comfortable driving round with all lights on during the daytime so would like to find a better solution.

Thanks

You can set the high beam to work as DLRs (dimmed) I think the only way to have the rear lights on as well it to set the dipped beam to always on.

not Carly but intravee allows you to choose which lights you want for DRL's. I have my angel eyes as DRL

Be careful which lights you end up using, it's illegal to use fogs unless it's actually foggy!
There was a topic on here not long ago

U may find that simply looking at the Carly website first would probably best serve to comprhensively answer your question.
I can also confirm that DRL working on my E85 with Carly.

Thanks but this leads to more questions... it mentions standing lights, is that parking/side lights?

May I ask what lights you are using for drls? are you using the side lights or dipped beam or dimmed high beam?

thanks

Dipped headlights. Most here in Holland haveeither drl's or use headlights and rears during the day.
However, i may code back to normal and just have headlights and rears on as winter closes in and it gets darker.
I'd suggest trying out a few combinations to see what works. Its incredibly easy with carly as u can just uncode what u changed.
Standing lights i think are parking lights and be careful not to use US spec running lights as these use the indicators.
Make sure ur batt is at 12v and also make a backup of a backup of ur original state code-setup.
But it's all inthe manuals and on the website...read em!

If there is an option in Carly for ECE DRL or anything similar that will turn on dipped beam DRLs when light switch left in auto.

I've not found a fogs as DRL option - was going to use it to run some actual DRLs in their place but no joy.

My dipped headlights were coded to come on in ignition position 2

Are your angel eyes OEM? The option to use sidelights as DRLs has zero effect on my intravee :(
